There are many ways to meet people and get involved in your local community, from sports clubs and social groups, to finding new hobbies and interests or improving your skills and giving back to your community through volunteering. Volunteering can also be a great route back into work.

What's happening in the local community


Stockport PLUS offer social events, campaigns, activities and more for everyone who identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans or Queer (or not straight/binary) 

There is a monthly social at The Arden Arms as well as a walking group, planning for the annual Stockport Pride and much more

Volunteering is a great use of free time, you get the satisfaction of helping other people and spending time doing something that you enjoy and in addition to this, it’s a great way to meet new people in your community.
